Intelcan has been contracted to provide an upgrade to the Air Traffic Management (ATM) system in use at the Area Control Centre (ACC) and Tower at Malabo International Airport in Equatorial Guinea.  This upgrade will provide new ATM capabilities to the system while allowing it to participate in ATM data sharing with other countries of the Agence pour la Sécurité de la Navigation Aérienne en Afrique et à Madagascar (ASECNA).

Over many years of participation in the West African country, Intelcan has developed much of the aviation infrastructure in Equatorial Guinea.  Intelcan first installed its SKYCONTROL ATM system in the ACC and Tower in Malabo in 2008.  This latest ATM upgrade will include the addition of another working position in the Tower, compatibility with both ACARS functions ADS-C and CPDLC, and bidirectional data (Asterix 048) sharing connections with each of Libreville, Brazzaville, and Douala.  A control and monitoring position will also be installed at ASECNA’s facilities in Dakar, Senegal.
